8th Grade-U.S. History
Monday-Wednesday we will be watching “Rebels” (episode 1 from “American: The Story of Us” series from the History channel). Students will be taking notes during this and then using their notes to create a children’s book about 6 of the important events/people (please see directions for this assignment under the U.S. History tab). The children’s book will be due on Monday, Aug. 23rd. On Thursday, students will be filling in information on flashcards (please see flashcards under the U.S. History tab) that they can use to help them study the Presidents for the President Quizzes we will have throughout the year. On Friday students will begin working on Chapter 2 (European Exploration and Settlement) using Placard Stations to help guide their reading and notes.
9th and 11th Grades-Criminal Law
Monday-Wednesday we will be completing the Chapter 1 notes and students will begin working with their groups on a poster related to the Critical Thinking section in the textbook (please see directions for this assignment under the Criminal Law tab). The final poster will be due Thursday, in class. Thursday-Friday students will be working on the vocabulary for chapter 2. They will need to define the 20 words and then locate them in the crossword puzzle. This will be due Friday before the end of class.
